Why chick is so messed up

As a young boy chick grew up in a loving family. But he only listened to his father. Everything his father said he did it, not matter what it was. And one day. His father left the family and he only had his mother who he barely listened to, had to raise him. Chick thought it was the worst thing ever and that's why he had hatred for his mother. But like the old saying " you don't know what you got till its gone" is definitely true in this case. Once he lost his mother he felt like he had nothing.
Although, he was a professional baseball player had a wife and children, he still was not happy. He abused alcohol, and had regret and guilt. So he left his wife. Just like his father did when he was a child. How ironic, everything his father said he did, who knew everything his father DID he would do.
Anyway years later his only daughter is getting married, and she does not invite him to the wedding. you hear wedding and think father walks bride down aisle unless he isnt there. Well his daughter didnt want anything to do with him. but who can blame her he left her when she was a child.
So chick was heartbroken to find out that he would not be attending his only daughters wedding. Now put together, his idol ( father ) leaving when he was a children, embarrassed of your mother, then losing her and realizing it then. Having a great career then losing it all, and leaving your family cause you cant handle it. Then not being invited to your only daughters wedding. How would you feel. Pretty useless and messed up, having a lot of guilt and regret. And that is why he is all messed up.

For One More Day 2

When chick fails completely at committing suicide he finds him self in what he believes to be in between reality and his dreams. Chick goes back to his mothers house just because he feels like it, and his mother has passed away. EIGHT years earlier. But at that moment when he goes to that house she is in the kitchen cooking, as if she was never gone.
Although in reality she is dead, and he is talking to himself he believes that she is there. He got another opportunity to have one more day with his mother since he couldnt be there when he had the first chance.
See the big thing about Chick, he likes alcohol and he got in to some trouble and chose other stuff before his mothers own death. So he lived with that guilt for a while and now finally gets that chance to change whatever he can.
When he got there like i said she was cooking eggs in the kitchen and his mind automatically goes back to all the memories he has with her.

So far, he has tried to committ suicide and failed, but it brought him to a place where he can see his mother again. So he was given " One more day" to try and change what had happen that day. Not in reality but mentally so his guilt would go away.

For One More Day

The introduction to the book is rather interesting. the first line is what captured me .

" Let me guess, your probably wondering why i tried to kill myself"

Chick Benetto is the main character in the book. Chick use to be a pro baseball player, a husband , and a son. But he lost it all. And now since he had everything he has nothing and does not want to live. He tries to kill him, but it does not work. He has a lot of guilt simply because his mother died and he was not there for her and he thinks that it is all his fault. So since he has nothing he no longer thinks there is a logical reason to live.

My third and final book.

My last book of choice for the semester is - For One More Day by Mitch Albom. I have read a book by this author before called Tuesdays With Morrie. The book was very touching and I enjoyed the read very much. So i expect this one to be equally good. At least i hopee. I read the back of the book and it seems interesting.

MSK. Five stars

My Sister's Keeper. It was a great book and i would give it 5 stars if i had to rate it. It was the second book i had read and i just enjoyed reading. Considering i do not like to read, and don't really have the most time to. I found all the time i could to read that book. i kept it in my car and brought it everywhere with me. ( I know how much of a dork am I) i don't read ever but this, this was a good one. It is about a girl who was made to have exact genes and traits and everything like her sister. Obviously she looks different and has her own personality but all her organs, blood, and everything on the inside are the same.

Anna Fitzgerald is the sister that was made in a petry dish and Kate Fitzgerald is the one that has been diagnosed with leukemia. Anna is lively, and she knows that from the point of birth her parents have been taking different things out of her body to transplant them for Kate. And through all that, Anna is still a good person and cares so much for her sister. Kate even though she is sick still enjoys herself and always seems to be in high spirits.

But Anna wants to sue her parents for medical emancipation to the rights of her own body. Which means she will not be giving her kidneys to her sisters, because she wants to do things like play sports and have a normal childhood. So she says. Kate knows the real reason and that is why she is okay with it. No one hates her for what she is doing, her mother is just very angry with her.

Anna hires a judge who is the best one around. The catch about him is that he has epilepsy and has no control over his body and that is the ONLY reason he accepts Anna's request.

I do not want to ruin the ending for anyone because it is completely the different from the movie. It like throws you a curve ball out of NOWHERE. if you have watched the movie. it is nothing like that. But i definitely suggest you read the book.

Random blog.

It is my least favorite time of the year. Research paper time! I have always hated doing research papers, and i still do. But my topic is actually pretty interesting and easy to do research on. Which is kinda a plus .. Im doing mine on why celebrities care so much about their image for the media and how people look up to them so highly. good stuff.

AND ALSO

I finished my Sister's Keeper. I truly loved the book, and the movie came out on dvd today! yay! definetly cant wait to watch it again. It is just a storyy that makes you appreciate everything in life and i truly love it. The book and the movie were some what alike, alot of parts were different. Like the movie added different parts and took out parts from the book. But it is okay because both the movie and the book were excellent.

so im so excited.. New Moon comes out friday<3>

My Sister's Keeper

I finished Go Ask Alice, and now i am reading My sister's keeper. My sisters keeper is about a girl who has been diagnosed with leukemia when she was four, and her parents had a child made identical to the daughter so that it could be a donor for the daughter.

Anna was born, and from the moment she was born she was giving parts to her sick sister Kate.
Anna was made in a petri dish to match all her  sisters trait.  When she grew up she realized what was going on and she did not want to be a donor anymore.

But Anna went to a lawyer to try and sue her parents for " medical emancipation" so that she wouldn't have to give Kate her kidneys.

Her parents were very upset about it and don't know what made Anna want to go through with this .

I saw the movie way before reading the book and it has the same concept but different outcomes so far..Y
